How do make pottery (mugs, jars, etc.) without a pottery wheel?
I want to make a gift for Valentine’s day and I want to do pottery this year and I don’t want to pay does expensive prices for a machine. So if any of you can give me directions or tips or info to help me i would truly appreciate it. THank you!!!
Two choices would be slab built and coil built. Slabs are most often used for flat sided things, but can be used for cylinders.
Coils are usually used for round things and basically you roll rods of clay and stack them up and smooth them down. Both are worked on a board or turntable for access to all sides. Discussed in most pottery books or specialized ones with the words in the title.
