Why use old bottles with round bottom?
The ancient Greeks store and carry all kinds of amenities in the amphora, which are vessels ceramic with rounded or pointed bases that can not sit on a flat surface. The Egyptians also made many round-bottomed containers that had to be held on tripods or something to stand on. Since the liquid oil such content usually olive, wine or other, it seems that this fund is not unstable makes sense. What is the purpose of these funds rounded or pointed?
Small bases that allowed them to be stuck in the sand to keep them vertical position seems the conventional wisdom.
