How do a clean a wall hanging made only from hemp including ink?
I have a wall hanging that is made only from hemp that includes the ink and it hasn’ been cleaned in 6 years and is in bad need of a clean.I am afraid that if I wash it or send it to the cleaners that all of the ink will go out of it and I will end up with a white cloth.I really hope that somebody will be able to help me with this.
The hemp itself should hold up so can you “test wash” a small portion of the hanging to see what will happen when the ink gets wet? I would start with that. If the ink seems to hold I would do a gentle hand wash and hang to dry. Have you tried hanging it outside for a while to blow any dust off? Do you have a vacuum cleaner that has a small brush attachment for gentle vacuuming? You could try that. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.
